Curriculum
Learning Through Play
We focus on child-centered teaching, developmentally appropriate practices, and the belief that “play is a child’s work.” Our goal is to develop each child’s confidence, creativity, and life-long learning skills in our program. To support this goal, instead of following a set curriculum, each teacher is encouraged to develop lesson plans that follow the interests of the children.

Meet the Director
Hi there!
My name is Marshawnda Dixson, I am 25 years old and both the owner and Director of The Village Home Daycare. I have always wanted to be a teacher and believe with all my heart that God put me here to do just that. I entered the field of Early Childhood Education in May of 2021. I had the privilege of being under the guidance of an amazing Director who not only gave me my first lead teaching role, but advocated for higher wages on my behalf, and helped me pursue higher education.
A year later I moved up to lead GSRP teacher. I stayed in this role for a little over a year before God called me to begin The Village Home Daycare.
